Bushmills War Memorial

The original granite die was showing serious signs of decay, so we were employed to replace it with a matching granite. We sourced the granite block from China. It arrived with us as a 3 tonne sawn block. Traditional masonry techniques were employed in achieving the required texture and level of finish to match the existing die as closely as possible.

The bronze soldier and all plaques were carefully removed, and reinstated onto the replacement, using stainless steel dowels. All bedding jointing and final pointing was carried out with hydraulic lime mortar of same colour and texture as original mortar.
